This is what I think of the whole Academy Awards thing. I found this ridiculous. Harry Potter did not win the nominations I think they should have won. First of all, the editing category nominee was absolute bullshit. Hugo was great, and I cannot deny that, but of course, Harry Potter was built entirely of green screen and animated things. The spells, the brightness, the patroni, and the dementors… all of that…THE SHIELDS FOR DUMBLEDORE’S SAKES. That was AMAZING. My friends who weren’t even Potterheads were so in awe when they saw all of those things. The other category I was concerned about was the score one. Alexandre Desplat was not nominated for anything. Lily’s Theme sent CHILLS down my damn spine. Courtyard Apocalypse was also killer. How is it that the Harry Potter Franchise didn’t get those things? The accuracy of the screenplay that was adapted was off, but the editing….Jason Isaacs could not have said it better. He emphasized the magic very well. But I guess the Academy’s full of muggles.
